Moral Theology in the Seminary

The Sacra Doctrina Project hosts an annual conference on moral theology in seminary education. This conference is intended for, but is not exclusive to, seminary professors. As a small gathering, the annual meetings are not thematic; the common project of discussing moral theology vis-à-vis the needs of seminarians provides sufficient direction for the conference.
The next meeting will take place on April 10 and 11, 2026 at St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore, MD.
If you wish to present a paper, or merely to attend, please fill out this form, and submit a proposal of ~300 words, as appropriate. Proposals for papers are due by January 1, 2026. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by February 1, 2026. If you wish merely to attend the conference without presenting, or to join our distribution list to be updated about future conferences, please fill out the same form linked to above.
Please also know that the Sacra Doctrina Project has launched its journal, Lux Veritatis, one issue of which each year will be dedicated to moral theology. Those who present at the annual moral theology conference are encouraged to submit their papers in essay form for publication in the journal.
